Vievi, the olive oil brand of Gökkale Tarım—through which Gürmen Group carries out its investments in the agricultural sector—has added new accolades to its growing list of awards. Advancing with strong steps toward becoming a global brand and increasing the international awareness of Turkish olive oil, Vievi earned a “Gold Medal” at the world-renowned EVO-IOCC Italy competition and a “Gold Award” at Anatolian IOCC 2021, Türkiye’s first international olive oil competition. Vievi’s “Vievi Arbosana Early Harvest Cold-Pressed Olive Oil” and “Vievi Koroneiki Early Harvest Cold-Pressed Olive Oil” varieties were deemed worthy of awards at the competitions.
Commenting after Vievi’s achievements, Gürmen Group and Gökkale Tarım Board Member Kübra Doğan Erkoç said, “Our olive oils successfully passed the tasting tests of international authorities and once again won gold medals with their aroma, fruity taste, unique bouquet, bitterness, and pungency values. We are delighted both to see the efforts of our local team recognized and to witness Turkish olive oil achieving success by competing fiercely with its rivals on the international stage.”
Produced in Türkiye’s Largest High-Altitude Olive Grove!
Stating that they have been bringing Vievi Olive Oil—harvested from olives grown on a 5.5 million m² estate in Karacasu, Aydın, Türkiye’s largest high-altitude olive grove and transformed into one of nature’s most valuable resources—to tables for nearly three years, Kübra Doğan Erkoç continued: “Grown on the Karacasu Plateaus, nourished by the Aegean’s pristine air, gentle breezes, and sunshine, our olives give life to Vievi olive oils at their freshest, without touching the ground. We place great importance on production techniques to preserve the beneficial components that make olive oil a miracle food and a source of both flavor and health. Olives harvested in October are pressed within 4 to 6 hours. As the pressing process is carried out at a maximum of 24 degrees, it is defined as ‘cold pressing.’ Our extra virgin olive oils, produced using early harvest and cold-pressed methods, achieve a maximum acidity of 0.4 and high polyphenol values. Produced with these special methods, Vievi olive oils continue to take strong steps toward becoming a world brand. While our annual production capacity is currently around 100 tons, our goal is to increase this to 300 tons within four years and export Vievi worldwide, particularly to the United States and the Far East.”
