Gürmen Group Becomes the First Turkish Company Accepted into the Renewable Energy League RE100

Gürmen Group, one of Türkiye’s leading institutions in the field of renewable energy, carrying out its activities with a strong sense of responsibility toward the environment, people, nature, and cultural heritage, has become the first Turkish company to be accepted into the RE100 platform, recognized worldwide as the renewable energy league. Acting on the fact that approximately two-thirds of global electricity consumption is used every second, RE100 members play a significant role in minimizing the impacts of climate change by sourcing the electricity they consume from renewable resources. RE100 includes more than 150 global brands across sectors ranging from telecommunications and textiles to automotive and furniture.

Gürmen Group Continues Renewable Energy Investments with Maspo Enerji

Operating in Türkiye across diverse fields such as ready-to-wear and retail, energy, mining, agriculture and livestock, construction, and real estate development, Gürmen Group took its first step in renewable energy investments by establishing Maspo Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in 2010. Having started geothermal energy production in Alaşehir, Manisa, the Group achieved an installed capacity exceeding its total consumption with an annual renewable energy production of 10 MW. The capacity is planned to reach approximately 40 MW by the end of next year.

Commenting on Gürmen Group’s achievement, Helen Clarkson, CEO of The Climate Group, which organizes the RE100 initiative, stated: “We congratulate Gürmen Group for its leadership on clean energy and climate change. With its commitment to 100% renewable electricity, it not only sets an example for thousands of companies in Türkiye but also demonstrates how renewable energy can support economic growth. This year, during Climate Week, we are celebrating RE100’s expansion into new geographies—something that would not be possible without companies like Gürmen Group that view renewable energy as a business opportunity.”
